Facelift Treatment
Facelift procedure was designed to lift sagging facial structures.
The purpose of this surgery is to restore the facial fat pads to their proper level or location. A full incision is made inside the scalp from the temporal area in front of the ears, behind the tragus and behind the ears. This incision is made to address the necessary areas above the SMAS and to be able to elevate this area without complications.
Guidelines for undergoing this procedure
- Do not be overweight. The result can be affected by weight changes so it is recommended to be within your ideal weight before undergoing this surgery.
- You must have controlled your blood pressure and not be hypertensive. Since the technique requires to access the supra SMAS, which is covered by a rich capillary network, blood pressure cannot rise during surgery as this is a threat to the flap's survival.
- Good physical condition for good scar healing. The procedure requires a wide incision. Patients at high risk of keloid or hypertrophic scarring are not good candidates for this procedure.
Usual surgical time length is about four hours. It is performed in combination with blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, bichectomy and other related procedures in the face in the face.
It is not recommended to perform this procedure in combination with a body procedure.
For an adequate care, you should permanently stop smoking, don’t expose yourself to direct sunlight, no loose or gain weight after the procedure.
Hyaluronic acid and botulinum toxin can be used to ensure best durability of the results.
