Brachioplasty

Brachioplasty is a surgery to correct the contour of the arm, when the skin is very flaccid. When the arm has an accumulation of fat, liposuction is performed. But in many cases the quality of the skin is not good enough that it can tighten after fat has been removed. This is generally observed among people who have lost substantial weight.

An incision is made in the inner arm region ending in the armpit and the remaining skin is removed.

Afterwards, it is important to take the necessary care of the scar, such as: using silicone scar sheets and special creams, and avoiding any sharp movements. This is important to avoid hypertrophic or keloid scarring.
