Which type of breast implants are best?

Before undergoing breast augmentation surgery, one of the most common doubts of patients is to know about the types of breast implants, since they want to know which one will be the best for them. To learn more about breast implants, you should first know that there are different types according to shape, surface, texture, type of filler, and brand. 

Types of breast implants by shape

There are two types of breast implants depending on the shape: round implants and anatomical or teardrop-shaped implants.
If more natural results are desired, it is recommended to use anatomical implants instead of round implants. 

The difference between both implants is that round implants have more filling in the upper part, compared to teardrop implants. This means that if you want a more striking result, the best is to use round implants. 

Breast implants by type of filler

There are two types of fillers in an implant: cohesive silicone gel and saline solution. To find out which one is best for you, will depend on your personal preference. 

Cohesive gel implants: 

• They have a softer, more natural look.
• It is a good option for women who have little breast tissue.
• They keep its shape better.
• Their rupture rate is very low. 

Saline implants

• They have greater tightness than cohesive gel implants.
• Requires smaller incisions.
• The amount of saline can be adjusted according to what the surgeon specifies.
